WhatsMyUsage
Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
This policy explains what WhatsMyUsage accesses, why it needs that information, and where the information is processed.
1. Operator
WhatsMyUsage is developed and operated by Dominique Rosario. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to contact@domirosario.com.
2. About WhatsMyUsage
WhatsMyUsage is a macOS menu bar utility that shows usage information from supported AI coding tools (currently Claude, Codex, Cursor, and Grok).
3. Information the app accesses
When you enable a provider, WhatsMyUsage may access that provider’s local configuration files, usage files, application preferences, authentication credentials, or related macOS Keychain entries. It may also process usage, plan, credit, rate-limit, or account-status responses returned by that provider.
This access is used only to authenticate with the provider and display your usage information. WhatsMyUsage does not require a separate app account and does not intentionally access unrelated documents or general browser history.
4. Network communication
WhatsMyUsage only connects an integration after you enable that provider. It then makes HTTPS requests directly from your Mac to services operated by Anthropic / Claude, OpenAI / Codex, Cursor, and xAI / Grok. These requests are needed to retrieve current usage information or refresh provider authentication.
Provider credentials and request data are sent only to the corresponding provider as needed for that integration. WhatsMyUsage does not send your credentials or usage information to a server operated by Dominique Rosario.
5. Local storage
WhatsMyUsage stores app preferences locally on your Mac, including enabled providers, refresh settings, launch-at-login preference, and interface state. Refreshed provider authentication may be stored in the macOS Keychain. This information remains until you change the setting or remove the relevant local data.
6. Analytics and advertising
The WhatsMyUsage app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking SDKs. The domirosario.com website is separate from the app, is hosted through Vercel, and uses PostHog for website analytics. Visiting these product or policy pages may therefore generate ordinary website analytics such as page visits and basic device information; this does not give PostHog access to data inside the WhatsMyUsage app.
7. Third-party providers
Information sent directly to a supported provider is handled under that provider’s own terms and privacy policy. WhatsMyUsage is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, or xAI.
8. Retention and deletion
WhatsMyUsage does not operate a remote database for app credentials or usage information. Local preferences and Keychain items remain on your Mac until removed. Provider-side records are retained by the relevant provider according to its own policy.
To remove WhatsMyUsage, quit the app and delete it from Applications. You can also remove its login item in macOS System Settings and delete related WhatsMyUsage preferences or Keychain items. Removing WhatsMyUsage does not delete data belonging to Claude, Codex, Cursor, or Grok.
9. Children
WhatsMyUsage is a developer utility and is not directed to children.
10. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the app or its integrations change. The effective date above will show the latest revision. For privacy questions or requests under applicable law, contact contact@domirosario.com.
